Gorilla Mode vs Woke AF

With hundreds of pre-workout supplements available online, deciding which one to use can be difficult. Gorilla Mode and Woke AF are two pre-workouts that make several impressive claims. Are they as effective as they say?

I have tried many pre-workouts over the years, and have looked at both supplements to see which is best. Read on to discover our findings for yourself.

Gorilla Mode vs Woke AF

Both Woke AF and Gorilla Mode are popular pre-workouts with solid ingredients that will give you a boost before hitting the gym. So, is one better than the other?

Differences Between Gorilla Mode and Woke AF

The main difference between the two pre-workouts is that Gorilla Mode has more pump-focused pre-workout ingredients than Woke AF.

Gorilla Mode also contains fewer stimulants (especially in its lower dosage listing) so you won’t encounter as many side effects if you are sensitive to stimulants. Woke AF contains as much caffeine as three cups of coffee, which is a little excessive and can be a significant issue for those with caffeine sensitivity.

Features Compared

Let’s look at both pre-workouts in detail to compare them both to see which one is best.

Ingredients Found in Gorilla Mode and Woke AF

Looking at the labels of both products reveals several similar ingredients used in their respective formulas. These include ingredients such as caffeine, which can boost athletic performance, citrulline, which has been shown to provide better pumps, and Huperzine, which is a Chinese herb shown to improve brain function.

Looking more closely at the dosages, you can see the difference between both pre-workouts, with Woke AF containing much more caffeine than Gorilla Mode (depending on which dosage you choose, as there are two listed).

Gorilla Mode contains the more effective L-citrulline, while Woke AF uses citrulline malate. Gorilla Mode also has four times the amount of Huperzine.

Other ingredients found in Gorilla mode include:

  • Creatine: This ingredient has been shown to boost endurance and strength during endurance-based workouts.
  • Betaine: Has been shown to promote strength increases during weight training.
  • L-Tyrosine: An amino acid shown to improve brain function and help reduce fatigue under stressful conditions.
  • Malic Acid: This particular ingredient has been proven to be a natural performance enhancer.

Whereas Woke AF contains:

  • Beta-Alanine: Research has shown that this ingredient can boost exercise performance.
  • Theobromine: Shown to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow throughout the body.
  • Taurine: Helps to enhance muscle contraction while delaying muscle fatigue and improving athletic performance.
  • Alpha GPC: This ingredient has been shown to improve memory and focus.

It is worth noting that while the ingredients found in each formula have been proven to offer numerous benefits, those found in Woke AF were a little underdosed, relying on its high caffeine content for the majority of its benefits.

Effectiveness of Gorilla Mode and Woke AF

Both pre-workouts will help give you a noticeable boost in your strength training and recovery from exercise. But there is concern that the ingredients in Woke AF are underdosed which may limit their effectiveness.

With Gorilla Mode, you might also notice an improvement in your focus, based on the ingredients found in it.

What Supplement Form Are They?

Gorilla Mode and Woke AF come as powders with roughly the same size scoops. From our testing, they are both easily dissolved in water, unlike some brands we have tested that end up lumpy and disgusting to drink.

Flavors of Gorilla Mode and Woke AF

Both pre-workouts come in a vast range of flavors, with Gorilla Mode having 13 flavors and Woke AF having 14.

The flavoring for Woke AF is the better of the two, with Gorilla Mode being too sweet and a little chalky for my tastes. However, I only tried some flavors, and with so many options available, you will surely find one that you will find to your liking.

Price Comparison

Of the two pre-workouts, Gorilla Mode is the cheaper of the two when it comes to a per-serving price. This particular pre-workout is sold in tubs of 40 servings, with a discount available for bulk orders. If ordering three tubs, the cost per serving would be $1.17, whereas Woke AF comes in a tub of 30 servings, which is $1.83 per serving.

Are There Any Side Effects to Be Aware Of?

Both pre-workouts contain stimulants that can cause numerous side effects if abused, including a raised heart rate, jitters, and insomnia. I suggest using around half a scoop to gauge how each product will affect you. If you tolerate that dosage well, you can likely increase to a single scoop serving without issue.

Woke AF contains beta-alanine, which can cause a tingling sensation when consumed. Many people love this feeling as it shows that the pre-workout is working. However, this is not the case for everyone. Gorilla Mode does not contain this particular ingredient, so you won’t suffer this reaction should you choose to use that pre-workout.

Is There Any Third-Party Testing on Gorilla Mode and Woke AF?

There is no mention of any third-party testing on either product’s website or label. It is worth noting that many of the ingredients that are found in each formula have been tested and researched extensively, with many offering numerous benefits.
